ACYA - Action for Children & Youth Aotearoa Incorporated
Action for Children and Youth Aotearoa Incorporated (ACYA) began as Action for Children in Aotearoa (ACA). It is the co-ordinating body for responding to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCROC), in New Zealand
Periodic reports are sent by the Government to Geneva and then Non- Government Organizations such as ACYA respond to them. The next government report is due in November 2008. ACYA is expected to report in 2009 and has started preliminary discussions with young people on how their voice is to be heard.
ACYA is actively involved in all aspects of matters that arise from the implementation of the Convention. The website has up to date information.
