First establishing in Auckland, New Zealand, Connexion Point began repairing tape drives in June 1995. In June 1999 Connexion Point expanded across the Tasman ocean to establish a repair centre in Sydney, Australia.
In May, 2000, the first Connexion Point United Kingdom tape drive repair facility was established. Our UK service centre has since grown to a well presented facility which is conveniently located in Hook, just a minute off the M3 motorway and with easy access to many of the ‘high tech' organisations in the UK.
Connexion Point established a service centre at Göppingen in Baden-Würtemburg, Germany, in June 2004; 9 years after starting out in New Zealand. By this time the company had the largest geographic spread across the world of service centres specialised to the repair of tape drive and tape autoloader technologies.
The company retains its headquarters in New Zealand. This makes us unique because most global technology companies originate from the larger markets of Europe and America. In spite of our small market – but also because of it, New Zealanders and Australians have a very strong tradition of innovation and achievement. These important values flow into the business culture and technical processes of Connexion Point in New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom and Germany.
